On June 10, at the export workshop of Jiangjunfeng Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. of Zhaoping County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region workers loaded premium green tea into shipping containers, preparing for transport to Southeast Asian countries. "This full-container shipment of 20 tons of Zhaoping tea, valued at over 4 million RMB, marks a historic breakthrough from "zero to one" in the local tea industry’s export to Southeast Asian markets," said Huang Linguang, the company’s deputy general manager.
As the "Hometown of China’s Organic Tea," "Hometown of China’s Famous Tea," and one of the "Top Ten Charming Tea Towns in China," Zhaoping County has positioned its tea industry as one of its key "Four 10-Billion-Yuan Industries." In 2024, the county’s tea plantations spanned 266,100 mu (approximately 17,740 hectares), with an annual output of 23,200 tons and a comprehensive industry value of about 6.8 billion RMB. The regional brand "Zhaoping Tea" has been listed among China’s Top 100 Geographical Indications for eight consecutive years, with its influence continuing to rise.
In recent years, Zhaoping County has actively pursued a "dual-engine" strategy targeting both domestic and international markets. As a leading enterprise, Jiangjunfeng Tea Group showcased Zhaoping Tea at the 34th Vietnam International Trade Fair in April this year to explore new market opportunities. Huang Liangyu, the company’s general manager, stated that venturing into bulk tea exports has deepened cooperation with ASEAN countries, achieving a new breakthrough in Zhaoping Tea’s global expansion.
